Bio-DHI Hair Transplant
What is Bio-DHI Hair Transplant?
Bio-DHI Hair Transplant is one of the newest techniques in hair transplantation and is a variation of the FUE hair transplant. It involves fewer steps and is mainly differentiated by its implantation process which makes uses of a special medical tool known as the Choi Implanter Pen.
The Bio-DHI Difference:
The main difference in the original FUE method and the Bio-DHI hair transplant method is the implantation process. The Bio-DHI method combines the making of channel incision dots in the recipient area and implanting the extracted follicles as one single process with the use of the Choi Pen.
Bio-DHI Procedure:
After administering local anesthesia, the grafts are extracted using the micromotor assisted punches just like it is done during a FUE transplant. But there after the Bio-DHI implantation process method is different and more efficient. It combines the making of channel incision dots in the recipient area and implanting the extracted follicles as one single process. Using a Choi implanter pen, the doctor loads the follicles extracted from the donor region into the implanter; the follicles are put gently, using forceps, inside the hollow needle (at the end of the implanter pen). The pen is then used to implant the preloaded follicles into the scalp. The surgeon inserts the needle at an appropriate slant usually at a 40-45% angle into the scalp and implants the follicle by pressing down on the plunger.
This process is then repeated to implant all the extracted follicles. During the process the medical team use about 2 to 6 Choi pens alternately to get the best result in a timely manner. Each of these implanters is equipped with various sizes of needles from 0.5-1.5mm to fit single, double and triple hair follicle units.
Advantages of the Bio-DHI Hair Transplant
It allows surgeons to make incisions and implant hair into the scalp tissue at the same time.
A large number of grafts can be implanted into a specific cm2 area and so create denser hairlines.
It allows the surgeon to control the angle of graft implantation to recreate the natural direction of hair.
With the Choi Pen hair grafts can be implanted between existing hair which may not require to shave the scalp fully.
There is reduced trauma and bleeding during the Bio-DHI hair procedure
The Bio-DHT technique assures a high rate of over 90% of hair survival.
The recovery time is very fast and patients can resume their routine life soon after the procedure.
The Bio-DHI technique is very suitable for women and men with long hair.
