IPRF (Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin) Treatment
Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin (IPRF) is an all-natural, non-surgical regenerative treatment that is a mixture of activated platelets, white blood cells and mesenchymal stem cells that stimulates cell activity in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. This in turn promotes healing and accelerates the rate and degree of tissue regeneration, resulting in new hair growth and thickening of existing hair. Despite basic similarities with the PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment, the IPRF (Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin) treatment stands out as a superior option.
IPRF (Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin) consists of: -
Platelets (a source of healing proteins and growth factors)
Fibrin (the wound healing and regeneration matrix that traps the platelets and controls the slow and constant release of ‘growth factors’ over a period of time.
Stem cells (the conductors of our body’s own healing and regeneration molecules)
Benefits of IPRF:
Treats male and female hair thinning
Stimulates growth of dormant follicles
Enables growth of new hair follicles
Strengthens existing hair follicles
Increases the thickness of the hair shaft
Procedure
Unlike PRP, in IPRF the blood sample taken from the patient is spun at a lower speed so that the layers of the blood do not separate out as distinctly. This allows some of the white blood cells and stem cells to remain within the platelet layer that is collected for treatment. Thus, IPRF contains approximately 10 times the platelet concentration and more healing factors within it. Also, the lower spin speed causes less trauma to the individual cells of the blood, allowing more stem cells to remain in the final IPRF product. For visible results one treatment every month for three months is recommended.
IPRF can benefit men and women, in the early stages of hair loss. It also is effective for women with traction alopecia, hair thinning caused by hairstyles that pulled the hair to an extreme degree and inhibited hair growth. It is a good option for people whose hair is thinning but who dislike taking medications regularly.
