Scalp Micropigmentation
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a procedure that applies pigments at the epidermal level of your scalp to create the illusion of a shaved hair or stubble look, by providing coverage in hair-bearing scalp areas that have lost hair or require the appearance of greater density. It is ideal for men and women in early stages of thinning to advanced hair loss.
Scalp Micropigmentation Benefits:
Creates the look of a full head of cropped hair
Restores natural hairlines on partly-bald/fully bald heads
Camouflages scars from previous hair transplants
Hides scars, burns and birthmarks.
Boosts the visual effect of a hair transplant
More affordable than a hair transplant
Scalp Micropigmentation Procedure:
A topical anesthetic to numb the skin and keep the patient comfortable could be used. The procedure is performed with a pen-like instrument or standard tattoo gun. The needle will penetrate a few millimeters into the middle layer of the skin (dermis) and an iron oxide pigment is injected in the scalp areas requiring coverage. Most procedures could take from 30 minutes to several hours to perform depending upon the complexity of the procedure. The desired results can be seen immediately and could last for years.
Scalp Micropigmentation is growing in popularity as a solution to hair loss to improve their looks and their quality of life.
