Procedure

Beard hair transplant is a specialized technique requiring precision and artistry to increase hair growth in the beard area with natural hair transplantation performed under the same principles as modern hair transplant surgery. The most important step of the procedure is designing the transplant area according to the needs of the patient and the defined symmetry, taking care to ensure a natural appearance for new facial hair growth. Next the number of grafts or facial hairs required for the procedure and the kind of follicle grafts required for natural results and density are calculated. Subsequently the procedure is performed under local anesthetic wherein the required hair follicles are extracted from the donor area (usually the back of the head). The individually extracted hair follicles are then individually transplanted during the beard transplant into the thinning or patchy beard area of the face.
