Face body Lift

A Body Lift is a cosmetic procedure performed on patients who have lost a significant amount of weight, or those who possess stubborn fat and excess skin in one or more areas of the body. The most common areas for excess skin sagging are the face, neck, breasts, abdomen, flanks, arms and armpits, back, buttocks, thighs, legs, and calves. A Body Lift procedure is capable of addressing multiple problem areas in a single operation. The final results will be both functional and cosmetic. Heavy folds of skin will be reduced and the underlying structures that support fat and skin will be tightened. The primary goal of a Body Lift is to sculpt, reshape and tighten the body.

Procedure:

The procedure varies with each patient, depending on his or her body type and desired surgical outcome. Prior to your procedure, intravenous sedation or general anesthesia will be administered for your comfort. Your surgeon will then make a series of incisions to reposition underlying tissue and remove excess skin. The incision length and pattern will depend on the location and amount of excess skin and fat planned for removal. Finally, the skin is pulled and tightened across the newly shaped body and all incisions closed with a combination of sutures, skin adhesives or surgical tape. The final results will be both functional and cosmetic. Heavy folds of skin will be reduced and the underlying structures that support fat and skin will be tightened. The entire procedure can last from three to seven hours. More than one surgery may be required to achieve optimal results. Liposuction may also be used in conjunction with Body Lift to assist with body contouring and helping achieve the patient’s aesthetic goals.

Recovery Process

Post-surgery patients require plenty of rest and limited movement in order to speed up the healing process and recovery time. Bandages are applied right after surgery to minimize swelling and provide support. Tubes are often placed to drain excess fluids. The scars resulting from the incisions are permanent but are carefully placed so as to minimize visibility. Patients sometimes report minor pain associated with surgery, which can be treated with oral medication. Recovery time varies depending on the extent of the procedure.
