Sapphire Hair Transplant

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplantation with sapphire blades is one of the most modern methods in hair transplantation techniques.

What is the Sapphire Method?

The basic FUE principle remains the same. Extracting hair follicles from a donor area (typically the back or sides of the head) and transplanting them into areas of thinning or baldness. This technique is an innovation of implementing sapphire tips, instead of metal slits within the FUE method.

KEY BENEFITS:

Survival of hair roots almost 95-98%.

High-precision technology.

Optimum growth direction of the grafts.

Lesser scars. Lesser pain.

Trauma and tissue damage is minimized.

Maximum density can be achieved.

Natural aesthetically pleasing results.

Shorter postoperative follow-up phase.

Sapphire Procedure:

Extraction of Hair Follicles: Using a specialized tool called a micro punch; the required hair for transplantation are extracted from the individual’s donor area as in any FUE method. The extracted follicles are carefully handled to protect their integrity and viability.

Recipient Site Creation: Once the hair follicles are extracted, the surgeon creates tiny incisions in the recipient area where the grafts will be transplanted. This is the most critical phase in the whole process. In Sapphire FUE, sapphire blades are used to create these recipient site incisions. The use of sapphire blades allows for precise and refined incisions, promoting better hair graft placement.

Graft Placement: The surgeon then carefully inserts the extracted hair follicles into the recipient site incisions. This process requires precision to ensure proper alignment, angle, and distribution of the grafts for natural-looking results. The surgeon may place single hair follicles at the hairline for a natural appearance and multiple hair follicles in other areas for density.

Number Of Grafts: The number of grafts required depends on the extent of hair loss and the desired density. In the actual process 500 hair follicles are taken from the donor area at a time, which are then lodged into the micro incisions created. The same procedure is repeated according to the number of grafts to be implanted.

On an average, a skilled hair transplant professional assisted by a team of technicians can implant anywhere from 2000 to 4000 grafts within 6-8 hours.

Advantages of Sapphire FUE hair transplant:

Higher precision: The sharpness and smoothness of the V-shaped sapphire blades enable the creation of smaller and more refined incisions, leading to more precise placement of hair grafts.

Reduced trauma: The use of sapphire blades can minimize tissue trauma during the recipient site creation, potentially resulting in less bleeding, swelling, and a quicker recovery time.

Natural-looking results: The precise incisions made with sapphire blades allows for more natural angles and directions of hair growth, enhancing the aesthetic outcome of the hair transplant.

Faster healing: The smaller incisions made with sapphire blades may promote faster healing and minimize scarring, allowing patients to resume their regular activities sooner.

Metal Allergy: Individuals with metal allergy can safely think about undergoing the procedure with the use of sapphire blades.
